The kitchen table is the source of so many great memories. From my earliest recollection it was the centerpiece of meals, celebrations, regular visits with friends, sharing of recipes, and always…a cup of hot coffee!

In 2005 I was hired as cooking school director and tasked with creating programs for 700 Kitchen Cooking School at the Mansion on Forsyth Park. I remained there until 2013, building it as one of the top Things to Do in Savannah on Tripadvisor, a very proud accomplishment! I had long dreamed of eventually opening my own cooking school based on my background in professional and leisure culinary education. A cooking school designed for hands-on cooking classes. As a professional chef who took an unexpected turn toward teaching, I realized many years ago that although many people enjoy cooking, they don’t always know why they do what they do, or how to achieve the best results. That long-term dream came to pass in April 2015 when I opened “Chef Darin’s Kitchen Table”, a cooking school featuring hands-on cooking classes in Savannah, GA. Come join in our classes and you’ll be immersed in the preparation. Together we will demystify cooking techniques and understand common ingredients. You’ll learn to do what I call “Cooking Between the Lines”!

Whether it be scientific, historical, cultural, or just sentimental, every recipe has a story to tell and something to teach, when you learn to “Cook Between the Lines!” Grab a cup of coffee and join me around the kitchen table. We’ll discuss food, cook together, laugh, share stories, teach techniques, understand ingredients and inspire you to spend more time in your home kitchen!
