She has traveled nationally and internationally for many years. Since settling into Savannah, Georgia in 1996, Lisa was buying and selling her vintage goods in many of the local antique shops until 2014, when she opened up her Gypsy World. Born in Laconia, NH this is where her love for fabric began. Her mother was a seamstress, so there were always mounds of fabric around the house. Lisa loves the look, smell and feel of all textiles. Her father was a landlord of 10 buildings, so the family would go to Sunday yard sales, flea markets, and auction houses (in the 1960’s) to furnish the apartments. This is where Lisa learned the lessons of buying and selling. She began her Gypsy travels after high school with a cross-country trip with her girlfriend, and ended up traveling internationally, including living in Indonesia for nearly 7 years.
Lisa has been dancing since the age of 11. She carves out two nights a week to teach tap and jazz dance classes at a local dance studio. She integrates her vintage clothing with her love of dance by costuming dance pieces with her Gypsy World garb.
Lisa has a son, Adam, who also has some Gypsy in him–he also has the travel bug, and recently completed an 8-month solo journey throughout southeast Asia.
